Question by Kim16757: myofunctional therapy for mouth breathing?
I have a lot of tension around my mouth, like when i put my lips together (i am a mouth breather) it looks like i’m forcing myself to close my mouth. Plus I have these dimple like things on my chin when I close my mouth…. How can i get rid of this? Are there exercises out there for this kind of thing?

No. Myofunctional therapy is for tongue-thrust, not mouth breathing.
Consult an ENT for an investigation into why you are a mouth breather. Nasal narrowing, nasal polyps, enlarged adenoids, a long soft palate, or enlarged tonsils can all cause a person to be a mouth breather. Once these conditions have been addressed, you shouldn’t have any more problems.

Has anyone here used the Buteyko method of breathing to help with their breathing problems? Have they noticed that if they keep their mouths closed except for eating or talking and only use their nose to breathe, that they find they can breathe easier, even on a cold and windy day?
